True to this song's message, Abbie Cardwell is BACK...but perhaps not in the way anyone could expect!. The beauty of a hiatus is highlighted in this track and shows that time and space can allow a predominantly acoustic singer songwriter freedom to spread curious wings.

Underground was written during a time of intense introspection as Abbie returned to a weekly songwriting practice and the result is pure alchemy (and perhaps a whole new genre she's nicknamed 'Electro-Twang'). Even Abbie is surprised by all this....and she LOVES IT! Too pop for country? too twang for pop? Who Cares? Abbie’s ready to shine a light on it either way.
